The Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG) is seeking a Summer Fellow to support our Livable Communities work within our new Policy Fellowship Program. This fellowship will provide early-career professionals with hands-on experience advancing policies that support education, workforce development, public health, and inclusive economic opportunity—all vital to building a thriving and equitable California.
About the Fellowship This track is part of SVLG’s Policy Fellowship Program and will embed fellows across our core policy verticals. You’ll join a cross-functional cohort of fellows across other issue areas, supporting SVLG’s real-time advocacy to promote human capital, regional equity, and long-term economic resilience.
Key Issue Areas
Public and private sector workforce partnerships
Access to quality education and upskilling
Health innovation and community health infrastructure
Equitable economic opportunity and social mobility
Responsibilities
Conduct policy research and provide analysis of relevant legislation
Draft memos and policy summaries for internal and external audiences
Support stakeholder engagement and coalition-building efforts
Help plan and execute policy roundtables and special events
Collaborate with members and external partners on education and workforce strategy
Ideal Candidate This role is suited for current college students or recent graduates who aspire to careers in public policy, political science, social impact, or health and education policy. Ideal applicants will have:
A passion for equitable economic development and inclusive policy solutions
Relevant academic background or experience in education, health, or workforce policy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A commitment to collaboration and public service
Fellowship Terms & Application Info
Length: 3–4 month terms (flexible start dates)
Structure: 1–2 fellows per issue area; cohort-based model
Compensation: Monthly stipend provided
