Overview
CareSouth Carolina is seeking an optometrist with a heart for service to join our mobile school-based team, bringing quality eye care to children in our local community. The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye care, diagnose and manage ocular eye disease, and prescribe corrective lenses. The duties focus primarily on school-based programs throughout our five-county area, with services provided on a mobile optometry vehicle. Responsibilities
Lead the growth of a new Optometry services Create a positive work environment Conduct comprehensive eye examinations across all age groups Diagnose and manage a wide variety of ocular diseases and visual system disorders Address conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and amblyopia Perform and interpret various diagnostic testing and imaging Fundus photography, visual fields, and optical coherence tomography Prescribe and fit spectacles and contact lenses Surgical co-management with ophthalmology Educate patients on proper eye care practices and preventive measures Collaborate and co-manage with other specialties to ensure integrated patient care Maintain accurate and detailed patient records Stay current with advancements in eye care through continuing education Assist with hiring and training staff Speak at provider meetings, diabetic focus groups, community events, etc. Skills/Abilities/Education/Experience
An active license to practice optometry in the State of South Carolina Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school or college of optometry A minimum of one year of optometry experience is required BLS/CPR certification is required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment Commitment to providing high-quality patient care A valid driver's license is required Hours
Full-time, Monday – Friday Location
Our Optometry services will focus primarily on school-based programs throughout our five-county area, with services being provided on a mobile optometry vehicle.
