As a Data Center Construction Manager, you will be part of a creative, diverse team solving problems in constructing Amazon Data Centers. Our data centers are energy-efficient and cost-effective designs. You will work with partner teams such as Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build data centers that support our Customers. You will build some of the most interesting electrical and mechanical systems in the world. You will be on the construction site daily, interacting with the construction trades as Amazon\'s owner\'s representative. You will be directly responsible for driving cost, schedule, and quality while managing construction vendors and contractors building data centers. The Data Center Construction Manager will be responsible for construction project management and oversight of construction-related activities for new builds or general capital projects, including ownership of project scope, quality, schedule, and budget. Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch list phases. Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy. Create construction project scope and requests for proposals. Perform financial analysis of construction. Manage construction projects for initiatives aimed at increasing data center resiliency. Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs for new data centers or optimization of existing data centers. Manage construction documents including submittal reviews, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing. Ensure construction project quality control; record and report key construction metrics to team members and management. Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis for equipment failures. Be a leader within the group and within internal and external teams that support the data center. Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent engineering science OR 9 years of related construction management experience in lieu of a degree 6+ years of relevant experience constructing and managing complex MEP systems, including large-scale power distribution/generation gear and cooling systems in mission-critical environments 4+ years of relevant experience managing general contractors and vendors, including RFP processes, bidding, change orders, quality control, and RFI/submittal tracking in construction project execution 6 years of relevant experience constructing electrical engineering systems including large-scale power distribution/generation gear and constructing mechanical systems including cooling PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Deep understanding of data center infrastructure (electrical systems, cooling systems, MEP architecture) Professional certification (PE, LEED, or CCM) with knowledge of building codes (BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA) Experience managing construction of complex electrical and mechanical systems including power distribution and cooling Strong technical documentation and communication skills, using data to support recommendations Proven ability to read/interpret construction specifications and create detailed design requirements across disciplines Track record of value engineering and innovative solutions to optimize costs without compromising quality Hands-on experience with data center operations, including systems controls, commissioning, and technical infrastructure management Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
