Senior Highway/Civil Engineer
for its
New York, NY
office. The team player we seek must have a BS/MS degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering and 8-12 years of highway and street design experience on NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and NYCDDC projects or similar public agency/municipal projects. The candidate will be responsible for the production of design plans, project specifications and report preparation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact in a project design team environment is essential. Prepare and review design plans, engineering estimates, technical specifications, and details related to the design of highway and street infrastructure. Develop conceptual and final project documents, including horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway and site grading, construction staging, signage, pavement markings, traffic signals, drainage systems, utilities, etc. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technical staff. Assist the Project Manager as a point of contact for day-to-day project coordination items. Required Skills & Required Experience
10+ years of experience in transportation, highway, and street design, or closely related engineering Bachelor's degree (B. S., or B.A.) in Civil Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years related experience in general civil engineering with an emphasis on highway/roadway design, as well as stormwater management/watershed analysis. NY Professional Engineer (P.E.) required Understanding of civil engineering principles with experience in highway/roadway engineering, site grading, drainage and utility design, stormwater management, maintenance, and protection of traffic (MPT). Experience with New York (city, state, and local) agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCT, TBTA, NYCDDC is a plus. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical drawings and identifying discrepancies or conflicts within the documents. Knowledge of FHWA MUTCD, AASHTO, New York State DOT, and New York City DOT standards. Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads required. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred Extremely organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain accuracy while handling multiple assignments in a dynamic company environment. The projected range for this position is $140,263 - $180,338 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
