Agency Info Family Education and Support Services is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit agency dedicated to inspiring healthy child development through Family Strengthening Services. Our strategies include targeting adults who have the greatest influence over the health and well-being of children. Last year, we served over 8,500 individuals through our prevention, intervention, and community enrichment services.
We serve individuals, families, and communities through evidence-based training, support case management, concrete supports, home visitation services, and more. Parenting classes cover topics such as Discipline and Guidance, Domestic Violence, Divorce and Separation, Kinship Care, Parenting, and Fathering.
We collaborate with schools to provide mainstream parenting classes such as "Winning At Parenting." We are contracted providers for programs such as "MRT Parenting and Family Values," "Impact of Domestic Violence on Children," "Consider the Children," "Kinship," "Parent Child Assistance Program," and "Dynamic Dads." We coordinate a financial assistance program for Kinship or relative caregivers called "Kinship Caregiver Support Program" and a weekly support group for caregivers in Thurston, with monthly groups in Mason and Lewis counties.
Additionally, we collaborate with the Hands on Children's Museum to provide a support group for foster parents called "Lifeline" and for Kinship Caregivers every Tuesday evening. We also offer a variety of continuing education programs for pre-school teachers, parents, foster parents, Kinship families, and other early childhood professionals who work with children.
