Overview
Requires Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Poly As a Cloud Architect specializing in multi-cloud integration, you will guide teams in designing, evaluating, and implementing solutions across multiple commercial cloud environments. You’ll leverage deep understanding of native cloud services—compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, and data pipelines—to help teams select and combine the right tools for each mission. This role requires balancing cost, complexity, and compliance while ensuring interoperability and maintainability across clouds. You’ll work closely with development and DevOps teams to architect resilient systems that perform seamlessly across AWS, Azure, and other commercial cloud providers. Acting as a trusted technical advisor, you’ll raise the organization’s overall cloud maturity and enable smarter, faster adoption of cloud-native capabilities. Responsibilities
Design and evaluate multi-cloud architectures spanning AWS, Azure, and other commercial environments. Develop reference implementations and integration patterns for cross-cloud networking, identity, and data flows. Assess tradeoffs between cost, performance, compliance, and vendor lock-in to inform technical direction. Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to implement cloud-native solutions aligned with mission needs. Create reusable infrastructure-as-code templates (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep) to accelerate adoption. Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to teams building or migrating workloads in multi-cloud ecosystems. Document architectures and share best practices to strengthen organizational cloud fluency and consistency. Skills Requirements
Solid grasp of computer networking protocols and principles. Individually motivated, self-starter, capable of understanding vague requirements and delivering novel approaches. Experience architecting solutions across multiple commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.). Deep knowledge of native cloud services for compute, networking, identity, and storage. Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, etc.). Experience with monitoring, logging, and cost management tools across multiple clouds. Communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Past experience working with and understanding of the CNO mission. Nice to Haves
Certifications across multiple providers (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Architect). Experience designing hybrid and federated cloud systems integrating on-prem and SaaS environments. Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, AKS, etc.).
