with the Eastern Colorado Health Care System, Lakewood Clinic. The position involves conducting disability examinations for Veterans. This is a Fee Basis position paid per DBQ exam. There is no night call.
Responsibilities
The C&P physician performs history and physical examinations and reviews the veteran's medical history.
Orders and evaluates diagnostic studies as indicated (X-rays, labs, pulmonary function tests, EKGs, ECHOs, sleep studies) to inform diagnoses.
Reviews military and VA medical records for exam preparation.
Documents examinations on DBQs (templates) in the computer and ensures reports meet DMA quality indicators.
Generates C&P examination reports utilizing CAPRI CPRS templates, Disability Benefits Questionnaires, and/or other methods approved by the Section Chief of the C&P Service.
Maintains productivity standards and demonstrates leadership within the C&P Service; collaborates with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA).
Acts as a resource to other examiners and participates in continuing education as required.
There is no night call. Fee Basis Physicians are paid per DBQ exam.
Qualifications
Internal Medicine or Family Practice physicians
Must be a US Citizen
Any State Medical License
BC/BE Residency Trained
