Overview

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the HR/Payroll Specialist manages payroll, HR functions, employee relations, compliance, and staffing processes. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, benefit administration, and effective support for both employees and management. Responsibilities

Payroll Make corrections to exceptions in the timekeeping system (missing punches, etc.). Process payroll and run checks weekly or bi-weekly. Distribute checks by department. Email employees\' pay stubs as needed. Process new hires and rehires, including data entry of all required personal information. Process terminated employees as needed. Process and enter employee deductions such as benefit deductions, levies, garnishments, tool deductions. Monitor a running total of vacation time accrued for all employees. Verify and process payments for accrued vacation for each pay period. Maintain employee performance review database and notify department heads as needed. Process pay increases as required. Assist in generating 1094/1095, W-2s, and related activities including distributions, returns, and requests. Human Resources Manage all employment/wage verifications. Verify unemployment claims. Prepare benefit enrollments at eligibility. Coordinate insurance enrollments with supervisors at the time of eligibility. Field questions pertaining to employee benefits and Cobra; gather appropriate answers when applicable. Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to a resolution. Assist in processing the addition of new drivers to the company\'s auto insurance carrier. Maintain all relevant personnel and benefit files in an appropriate manner. Place classified ads for open positions within the company when required. Assist as needed with Safety and HR related matters. Hiring Manage the staffing process (interviewing and hiring). Distribute applications and record all applicants in the EEO Log. Set up new employee files. Interview applicants to verify proper identification. Coordinate job placement with supervisors and Production Manager. Complete all new hire paperwork and follow-up reviews. Oversee completion of 10-day training verification forms. Complete new hire reporting for federal and state agencies as required. Assist with annual audits as needed. Oversee the purchasing of office supplies. Assist the Accounting Manager as needed and help oversee administrative support positions. Performs other duties as assigned.
