Overview

Student Recruitment Specialist - The Division of Enrollment Management, Office of Admissions and Recruitment, is searching for a highly motivated person to join our recruitment team. This position will have responsibility for student recruitment of high school, transfer, and online students, and will be primarily located at UNM’s Lobo Welcome Center. Daily activities will include interaction with prospective students and their families, public presentations, event planning, oral and written communication, and use and maintenance of student databases. This position may travel within New Mexico and out-of-state and will serve as a liaison and representative with internal and external constituencies, agencies, and institutions related to those activities to accomplish division enrollment goals. The ideal candidate will be student focused and have an energetic personality and able to prepare and deliver small and large group presentations. The ability to work independently, complete tasks efficiently, and make professional, well-reasoned decisions is essential. There will be some required evening and weekend work at recruitment events and extensive travel is required to fulfill job duties. Note: See the Position Description for additional information.

Responsibilities

Conditions of Employment

Ability to travel by vehicle or air, locally, statewide and/or out of state. A valid driver\'s license, or ability to obtain one within thirty days of hire, is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Substitution: Completed degrees above minimum education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience at a regionally accredited college or university. Prior experience working with high school students in a higher education environment. Prior experience delivering presentations to large and small groups. Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English and Spanish.
