Overview
Human Resources Business Partner based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Belt Power LLC is a full-service distributor and fabricator specializing in conveyor system requirements for processing, manufacturing, and material handling industries. Job Summary: The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The HRBP partners across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees, reflecting the business objectives of the organization. Maintains an understanding of the business unit's financial position, midrange plans, culture, and competition. Responsibilities
Conduct weekly meetings with respective business unit leaders and operations managers. Consult with line management, providing HR guidance as appropriate. Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reduce legal risks, and ensure regulatory compliance; partner with the legal department as needed. Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, performance reviews). Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations; assist managers with employee relations issues. Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Assist with company-wide initiatives including smart goals, annual performance reviews, merit increases, and employee engagement surveys. Facilitate benefits administration including enrollment in coordination with Benefits Specialist or PEO Firm. Manage leave of absence requests including FMLA administration and STD claim filing. Serve as point person for workers compensation claims reporting, safety initiatives training, and OSHA tracking. Respond to unemployment claims and participate in unemployment hearings. Conduct ADA Interactive Process when accommodation is requested. Maintain time and attendance system, provide system training, and facilitate attendance points system where applicable. Serve as a Culture/Fun Committee representative for the region. Program administration including internships, diversity initiatives, etc. Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to all team members. Administer status changes in payroll system. Maintain personnel files, I-9s in compliance with retention guidelines. Assist with terminations, layoffs, and furloughs as needed and prepare termination paperwork; ensure termination checklist is followed and coordinate exit with relevant stakeholders and communication regarding benefits. Analyze trends and metrics with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies. Provide guidance on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning. Participate in administration, evaluation, and monitoring of training programs; ensure training objectives are met. This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies. Ability to understand the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, and administrative practices. Ability to travel to site locations as needed (up to 20%). Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education And Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in an HR Generalist function. Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including HR administration, diversity, performance management, and employment laws. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment preferred. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds and have manual dexterity and strength in arms. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities; ability to travel to site locations as needed (up to 20%). Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Position Type And Expected Hours Of Work
This is a full-time onsite position. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. Occasional overnight travel and weekend work may be required. Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
