Workday Payroll Lead
to own and optimize our Workday Payroll system. This role will lead configuration, maintenance, enhancements, and strategic planning to support scalable, compliant, and efficient payroll operations. Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end Workday Payroll configuration, including earnings, deductions, tax setup, and payroll processing rules Lead system upgrades, enhancements, testing cycles, and ongoing maintenance Serve as a subject matter expert for payroll integrations, compliance, and reporting Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT to align system functionality with business needs Build and manage the Workday Payroll roadmap, identifying automation and process improvement opportunities Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accurate payroll execution Manage audit readiness, security roles, and payroll-related compliance requirements Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll configuration experience Deep knowledge of U.S. (and preferably Canada) payroll compliance, tax rules, and reporting Strong experience in payroll system ownership—maintenance, enhancements, roadmap planning Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams Bonus if you have experience in Absence, and Time Tracking Workday Payroll certification preferred Seniority level
