We are seeking a skilled and inspiring Manager of Injection Molding to lead our molding operations in our US-based manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has multiple years of experience in setting up and maintaining injection molding machines and their tools. This person will thrive on optimizing processes, coaching people, and delivering high-quality, sustainable products at scale. This position is based full-time in Phoenix, Arizona, where Open Mind Developments is launching its first U.S.-based manufacturing and fulfillment facility. To be eligible for this role, candidates must have valid U.S. work authorization at the time of application. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

Plans, coordinates, and oversees daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer demand on time.

Monitors production output and adjust priorities, resources, and processes to minimize downtime, scrap, and delays.

Ensures optimal utilization of machines, moulds, materials, and personnel to achieve operational efficiency.

Maintain accurate records of production metrics and report on performance against KPIs such as cycle times, yields, and throughput.

Develops and improves cell phone case injection molding processes to ensure consistent product quality and cycle time optimization.

Champions the advancement of practices to grow capabilities and efficiencies.

Evaluates and implements process changes or parameter adjustments to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve sustainability.

Leads root cause analyses of molding issues, collaborating with Engineering to resolve defects or variability.

Supports the introduction of new materials, moulds, and products through trials, process development, and validation.

Drives innovation in process automation and contribute to tooling design working closely with Product, Engineering, External Toolmaker, and Canadian manufacturing operations to prototype and scale new product lines.

Supervises, trains, and mentors a team of injection molding technicians and operators.

Provides regular feedback, coaching, and performance reviews to build skills and foster accountability.

Promotes a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture aligned with company values and mission.

Ensures appropriate staffing levels and schedule management to cover all production shifts effectively.

Schedules and coordinates preventive maintenance for injection molding machines, moulds, and auxiliary equipment to minimize unplanned downtime.

Maintains accurate documentation of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

Drives initiatives to improve equipment reliability and extend asset life.

Maintain adequate levels of consumable parts and spare parts.

Performs minor repairs on equipment and moulds.

Outsources and oversees major repairs on equipment and moulds.

Manages Quality Assurance to uphold and continuously improve product quality and compliance to specifications.

Monitors in-process quality checks, respond to deviations, and implement corrective/preventive actions as required.

Supports, audits, and maintains adherence to relevant standards such as ISO, environmental, and safety regulations.

Promotes and upholds health, safety, and environmental standards within the department by conducting inspections and risk assessments while ensuring corrective actions are properly implemented.

Champions sustainable manufacturing practices aligned with the company's mission, such as minimizing waste, recycling runners, and optimizing material usage.

Qualifications & Skills

Mechanical Technician, CAD Technician, Engineer or similar education

7+ years in leadership within a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of injection & machining best practices, tooling repair and assembly

Proven leadership and resource optimization with injection molding teams working 24/7.

Skilled in production planning, inventory management, and quality control.

Expertise in data-driven decision making, process improvement, and operational efficiency

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Comfortable in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment

Compensation Compensation range - USD $52,000-$65,000
