Responsibilities
Instruct high-quality mind and body classes to Aims Community College students and staff as scheduled.
Embrace and apply the College’s purpose, vision, mission, and commitment to diversity.
Clearly explain and demonstrate exercises and equipment; provide modifications for various skill levels.
Supervise and assist participants in utilizing equipment; ensure safe equipment usage and intervene when needed.
Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities; prioritize safety and well-being of participants.
Address risk management issues and document emergencies or injuries promptly and accurately.
Teach assigned mind and body courses (e.g., Yoga I/II, Pilates I/II, Stretch & Relax, Meditation for Health) with flexibility for morning, daytime, and evening classes.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in exercise science, health and human performance, exercise physiology, or related field plus current Heartsaver CPR certification; OR
Bachelor’s degree in same fields plus 2,000 hours of related experience plus current Heartsaver CPR certification; OR
Associate degree in same fields plus 4,000 hours of related experience plus current Heartsaver CPR certification; OR
Current relevant certification plus 10,000 hours of related experience plus current Heartsaver CPR certification.
Pre-employment post-offer physical exam required. Physical activity includes lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and prolonged standing/walking.
Knowledgeable about the course subject matter and technique; maintain accredited certification if applicable.

Faculty: Upon hire, must submit academic transcripts from an accredited institution. Foreign credentials may require a credential evaluation (NACES or AICE lists members for assistance).
All required documents must be submitted with every application. Some documents may not be attachable in the system; current Aims Faculty are not required to re-submit transcripts if official transcripts are already on file.
Screening/Selection: Complete application materials will be considered; initial screening by a committee. Some temporary assignments may occur with additional pay.
Background checks: Criminal background check required for all hires; may require industry-specific screenings (e.g., MVR, physical, drug screen). A conviction will be weighed against duties of the position.
