Vaco is partnering with an organization in the Milwaukee area to add a motivated Staff Accountant to the team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance who enjoys variety in their daily work and wants to develop further in accounting operations.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Supporting daily accounting activities and performing quality checks on peer work
Handling adjustments related to inventory and analyzing related variances
Preparing and posting journal entries and assisting with monthly close processes
Reconciling general ledger accounts, including cash and accrual-related entries
Assisting with annual audits and compliance requirements
Helping with year-end reporting tasks, such as preparing 1099s
Working closely with the accounting supervisor on special projects and daily workflows
Verifying invoice details against supporting documents and ensuring accurate coding by location, department, and expense category
Entering vendor invoices into the financial system
Preferred tools & skills:
Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office proficiency
Prior experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
