Our San Francisco office seeks a friendly, enthusiastic, high-energy individual to join as a Senior in our Tax department. Senior Accountants handle most tasks independently, lead assistants, review work, and make decisions on complex accounting and auditing matters.
Essential Functions
Perform diversified accounting, auditing, and tax assignments under supervision.
Demonstrate technical competency and adherence to professional standards.
Meet deadlines and manage client engagements.
Lead and instruct assistants, review work, and ensure accuracy.
Determine audit testing scope and select transactions for testing.
Prepare and organize working papers, verify financial data.
Prepare complex tax returns and liquidation/dissolution returns.
Advise clients on tax planning strategies.
Draft correspondence and management letters for clients.
Draft reports with footnotes and deliver projects proactively.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency with accounting and tax software.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and personal income taxes.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to multi-task and reason effectively.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise staff accountants and assistants, review their work, and guide development.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 3 years of public accounting experience with increasing complexity.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting.
40 hours of professional education annually.
Current CPA license or working towards it; member in good standing if licensed.
Success Factors
