Hotel Daphne seeks an enthusiastic Staff Accountant to join our team.
The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Area Director of Finance and plays a key role in supporting all hotel accounting functions, including accounts receivable, general cashiering, income audit, and financial reporting.

The Role:
The role of the Staff Accountant is to support all hotel accounting functions, including accounts receivable, general cashiering, income audit, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform accounts receivable functions, including preparing invoices and reconciling payments. Manage general cashier duties: issue, audit, and maintain hotel banks, prepare bank deposits, due backs, and petty cash. Ensure house banks are properly documented, approved, and maintained. Send out Daily report. Review and approve income journal and resolve any errors or discrepancies. Validate and reconcile credit card batches. Upload daily reports to SharePoint and confirm completion. Contribute to monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting. Assist in preparation of month-end closing procedures and reports. Handle inquiries from Hyatt Shared Service Center. Other duties as assigned. Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision. Qualifications
Experience Required: Strong knowledge of general ledger, accounts receivable, and cashiering processes. Strong organizational and communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy. Experience Preferred: 1-2 years of accounting experience, hotel or public accounting preferred. Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required. Experience in a hotel or a related field strongly preferred Proficient in Hyatt systems (Opera, Oracle) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
