What you will do:
The Manager, Real Estate Closing, will be an organized and passionate leader with strong team-building skills to direct and oversee our team of closing professionals. This role requires experience in closing, post-closing, funding, or lending, with a background in operations management. Responsibilities include SLA management and reporting, intercompany relationships, and team development.
The Manager adheres to regulations and organizational policies, maintaining awareness of all duties, including the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, USA Patriot Act, Fair Lending, and Information Security.
A day in your life might include:
Ensuring the closing team has the necessary resources to perform their responsibilities.
Managing attendance, production, work quality, conduct, development, and performance reviews of closing employees. Assigning daily work to meet SLAs.
Monitoring active pipelines for all Real Estate Originations, including retail and wholesale first mortgage lending, and Home Equity lending.
Ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements such as HMDA, RESPA, Reg Z, Reg B, Fact Act, and Safe Act.
Implementing process improvements to enhance loan quality, employee experience, SLAs, and member service.
Performing quality assurance reviews for pre-closing and post-closing processes.
Communicating department updates and opportunities effectively.
Additional Responsibilities may include:
Staying informed of industry standards, laws, regulations, and compliance.
Resolving closing-related escalations.
Overseeing final testing during system upgrades and enhancements.
Monitoring overtime and financial performance of the team.
Identifying root causes of process issues and providing solutions.
Participating in additional projects and duties as assigned.
What we need from you:
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience Requirements:
At least 4 years in first mortgage operations.
Minimum of 3 years management experience.
Ability to build rapport and lead teams remotely.
Knowledge of closing practices, mortgage documentation, recording, and title/abstract legalities preferred.
Understanding of applicable laws related to residential real estate loans, including FHA, VA, and Agency guidelines.
Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.
Adaptability and forward-thinking in a changing environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for extended periods.
