Insurance Placement Solutions has an immediate opening for a Senior Property & Casualty Claims Adjuster with our client. As a member of our client’s claims team, you will be responsible for managing a high-volume caseload of complex property and casualty claims, including property, auto liability, general liability, professional liability, and long-term healthcare claims. This senior-level role requires strong litigation management experience, multi-jurisdictional knowledge, and the ability to effectively resolve claims while ensuring compliance with company best practices, state statutes, and client service expectations.
Senior Property & Casualty Claims Adjuster Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of approximately 175 complex claims across multiple lines, including bodily injury, liability, and property Handle both attorney-represented and non-represented bodily injury claims Conduct thorough investigations by securing details from insureds, claimants, witnesses, and other parties Review and interpret insurance policies to determine coverage and draft clear coverage letters Set reserves, authorize or deny payments, and manage file documentation in line with best practices Provide timely, proactive communication with insureds, clients, agents, and claimants on claim status Manage litigation cases by working closely with defense counsel, monitoring legal budgets, and ensuring compliance with litigation guidelines Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities and ensure accurate recovery processes Prepare claims for reporting to excess carriers and reinsurers as appropriate Participate in trials, mediations, and claim roundtables as required Develop and execute negotiation strategies to achieve timely and cost-effective settlements Maintain compliance with Medicare Section 111 reporting and other regulatory requirements Ensure diary management, claim file notes, and closing ratios are maintained in accordance with company standards Participate in client reviews, teleconferences, and occasional travel for claim reviews Experience
5+ years of experience handling complex property & casualty claims required Strong litigation management experience required Experience handling bodily injury claims (both attorney-represented and non-represented) required Multi-jurisdictional adjusting experience preferred Education & Licensing
Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered Indiana Property & Casualty Adjuster License required Additional state licenses a plus Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of property & casualty policies, coverages, and claims processes Proven ability to investigate liability, evaluate damages, and negotiate fair settlements Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex coverage matters clearly Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to handle 175+ claims PC literate, including Microsoft Office and claims management systems Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment Work Environment
Hybrid position: 2–3 days per week onsite, remainder remote Full-time, exempt position (37.5 hours per week), with occasional evening or weekend work as needed Occasional travel to client sites, vendors, or legal proceedings About Insurance Placement Solutions
