We are looking for an innovative and passionate software developer who is driven to continuously learning and growing. As a software engineer on the IFE Software Team, you will be joining an experienced and collaborative team, working on a broad range of software applications using a variety of software technologies. Responsible for taking a leading role in researching, developing, and maintaining real-time embedded software including complex development. Linux OS/Kernel configuration for various hardware architectures as well as verifying hardware through software. High-level architecture development in C/C++, hardware device drivers, networked client-server applications, multiple database driven applications, and network security methodologies. Has specific technical project or product responsibility. Provides mentorship, leadership and/or technical guidance to engineers on a project. Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities: Design and develop large-scale applications as part of a collaborative development team Build and enhance web tools, RESTful APIs, and data-driven applications Write and execute unit tests and support software releases Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and story reviews Conduct code reviews and maintain up-to-date documentation Ensure best practices are followed for performance, security, and quality Support defect resolution and monitoring post-release Translate designs into software by analyzing functional specifications and interpreting complex system design specifications; provide systems engineering support on large-scale systems, major system elements, and interfacing systems Develop functional block diagrams and data/logic flow charts; develop strategic and implementation plans for large-scale information systems Code, integrate, test, debug, and refine the software to produce the required product Design complex software tools and subsystems to support software development, test, and reuse, and manage their implementation Enhance software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency Develop system architecture and design including software, hardware, communications and interface requirements Review, evaluate, and analyze design interfaces; prepare, review, and evaluate interface documentation, specifications, test plans and procedures Conduct analysis to define, analyze and allocate requirements; prepare program-level and user-level documentation Support system test programs and analyze system testing Support strategic system migration Perform analysis to define, analyze and allocate requirements; conduct analysis of system requirements and components and perform system audits to ensure functionality and performance Document designs in engineering documents including functional block diagrams and data/logic flow charts Provide systems engineering support on systems, major system elements, and/or interfacing systems Lead and direct the work of others Knowledge / Skill Requirements
Expert level of C/C++ programming experience in a Linux environment including TCP/IP network programming and device drivers Familiarity with network security methodologies a plus Prior experience with multimedia application development including streaming audio/video servers and clients highly desirable Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and make efficient use of resources Ability to resolve complex problems quickly and efficiently; IFE development involves many system level issues with real time performance and reliability in embedded systems Demonstrated ability to lead multi-function teams on complex projects Mentor, leader, technical expert and source of information Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and provides guidance to other technical positions Highly proficient in project planning to ensure timely completion of complex tasks; know how to integrate internal and external dependencies across multi-functions Proven ability to develop technical approaches, resources, and schedules on projects Demonstrated engineering contributions to product/project success Provides recommendations and decisions in matters of significance to the product and company Works on complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors Expert with concepts, practices, and procedures in Electronic Engineering Interacts with senior internal and external personnel; internal and external contacts often pertain to company plans and objectives Demonstrated engineering communication expertise Qualifications
Education / Experience Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience Advanced degree is preferred 15+ years of embedded software development experience and 3+ years of Linux application development experience Strong experience in C++ for airside software development Proficiency with objected oriented programming/design with PHP Experience with front-end web technologies: JavaScript, HTML, CSS 7+ years of experience with AWS (RDS, Lambda, QuickSight, Glue ETL script in PySpark, Athena, API Gateway, S3, CloudFormation templates) Experience with SQL query optimization and data modeling Experience supporting infrastructure setup and troubleshooting of serverless enterprise applications Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills IFE system development experience is a plus Other Requirements
Ability to travel to domestic or international locations as required, up to 10% of the time The salary range of
$138,000 - $231,000
is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
