Ready to be an important part of our Global Engineering Team? The IT System Administrator oversees the management, deployment, and maintenance of various computer systems, applications, and servers within the organization. This includes setting up, deploying, and maintaining the network infrastructure in collaboration with the global IT Network Team. Additionally, getting to handle any related special projects as they arise, assist end users through Jira support tickets, and provide training on common fixes and issues. Your responsibilities will extend to managing user permissions and accounts across Microsoft Suite, and you may also be tasked with training new IT staff on the team’s systems and processes. Ensuring software updates, patches, and troubleshooting technical issues are managed effectively will be part of your daily routine. Moreover, you will offer insights and feedback on software updates, IT policies, and upgrades when necessary. Key Responsibilities:
Maintains Help Desk tracking system; inputs problem description in Help Desk tracking system and assists with maintenance. Works closely with network administration to diagnose and troubleshoot network outages, maintain network configuration for users and their components/cabling, maintain user accounts and reboots servers and routers. Assists staff with the operation of application software, including Word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and communication software, web applications and anti-virus. Attends and participates in departmental meetings and committees to discuss IT-related issues, and contributes to departmental projects. Works with the global IT Team and external service contractors as needed to research and recommend hardware and software purchases, obtain quotes for repair costs and maintenance, and source product information. Performs European server maintenance during US working hours if necessary. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in IT or related subject. 5 years of experience in a similar role or a combination of knowledge and experience. Experience with the setup, maintenance and changes of complex TCP/IP Networks, Firewalls, Routers, Gateways. Office / Office365 (Word, Excel, Outlook). Windows installation / configuration. Hands-on mentality. Hardware / Software knowledge (Lenovo / HP / Dell). Experience working with Jira Service Management. Ability to travel 10-20% of the time, including both national and international travel. German Speaking is a plus. Knowledge of using ERP Software, Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Cisco CCNA/CCNO, and NERC-CIP is a plus. What You’ll Get:
