JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY: Evaluates current loans and new loan proposals under community development programs; specializes in loans for First-time Homebuyers and low to moderate income borrowers; coordinates proposals with lending groups. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews and evaluates loans for compliance; coordinates lending activities. Recommends improvements to enhance lending programs for targeted borrowers. Provides input for marketing to raise awareness of available products and services. Represents the company at community outreach events and meetings with government and municipal entities. Stays updated on federal and state banking regulations; specializes in Bond Programs, FHA loans, and assistance programs for low to moderate income borrowers. Performs related duties and special projects as assigned. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, including the bank Secrecy Act. Maintains organizational integrity and business ethics. Handles sensitive information responsibly. Develops relationships with nonprofit housing groups, realtors, and community organizations. Stays current with industry, underwriting policies, and legal requirements. Processes complete applications with all required documentation. Delivers compliance documents and disclosures timely. Prepares and updates borrowers on application status. Informs applicants of closing costs. Coordinates closings with all parties involved. Builds and maintains referral networks. Interviews applicants to document income, debt, and credit history. Determines eligibility and obtains signatures on authorizations. Submits applications for verification. Resolves discrepancies and informs applicants of decisions. Manages a pipeline of loans, coordinating with processors, underwriters, and closers. Updates team on industry changes and maintains compliance. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE: Associate's degree and 3 months to 1 year related experience or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years related experience preferred. 3 years banking experience in community lending preferred. Must be registered with NMLS as a Mortgage Loan Officer. ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work under stress and meet deadlines. Operate related equipment. Read and interpret documents. Travel as required.
