Accountant I - Retail Accounting

This role assists with the preparation of financial schedules, variance analysis, and process documentation, contributing to accurate monthly results and business insights across Retail operations.**Job Description****Key Accountabilities****Staff Accountabilities**:* Completes assigned financial tasks with attention to accuracy and adherence to established procedures.* Gathers, organizes, and verifies data to support reporting, analysis, and decision-making.* Assists with process enhancements by identifying potential improvements in daily activities.* Works effectively within a team to meet deadlines and deliverables while ensuring compliance with company policies.* Actively develops skills through hands-on experience and engagement in learning opportunities.**Team Specific Accountabilities**:* Assists in the preparation and analysis of contribution margin results, including identification of key drivers versus plan, projection, and prior year.* Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations related to Retail revenue, bad debt expense, and related accruals.* Supports reporting needs for the accounts receivable securitization program and regulatory/tax filings.* Contributes to integration activities, system implementations, and documentation of SOX-compliant control processes.**Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements****Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field**Experience**:* 0-3 years in Accounting, Finance or related field* Experience preferred in the Energy industry, but not required* **Skills**:* Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems* Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills* Process improvement oriented* Fundamental understanding of Accounting Governance requirements-**Business Acumen and Industry Insights:** navigate and assess Vistra operations and the broader electricity and power generation environment.-**Technology and Process Acumen:** holistic comprehension of end-to-end processes and associated enabling technologies.-**Data Analytics and Strategic Decision Support:** harness the power of data and influence strategic decision making.-**Effective Communication and Continuous Improvement:** support organizational transformation and foster a collaborative, transparent environment.-**Accounting Acumen:** leverage accounting expertise for business activities with accuracy, precision, and timeliness.#LI-Hybrid#LI-ND1**Job Family**Accounting**Company**Vistra Corporate Services Company**Locations**Irving, TexasTexas### *We are a company of people committed to:
