Mortgage Loan Originator
for their Financial Services Branch. The right candidate will promote and provide business development, origination of loans, and relationship management with customers and clients.
Responsibilities
Interview mortgage applicants to understand and educate them on financing options; review potential loan programs that best suit applicants’ goals.
Be accessible to the buyer and other parties involved in a loan to answer questions and provide updates.
Maintain reports and notes within origination software and customer relationship management systems.
Review new leads daily and contact them to earn their business.
Manage the loan pipeline from application to funding to ensure a smooth process for all parties.
Make presentations on loan products in sales meetings and with Sales staff in builder communities.
Respond promptly to Operations to facilitate an efficient loan process.
Provide necessary disclosures to loan applicants in a timely manner in accordance with regulations.
Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and support company goodwill and profitability.
Market the company’s products and services to potential business sources; develop mortgage leads in builder communities and real estate offices.
Provide weekend coverage in builder communities and at grand openings as needed.
Review documentation from borrowers for accuracy and address discrepancies.
Familiarize and comply with all QC policies; attend updates and meetings as necessary.
Provide input to management and attend production/staff meetings; assist in resolving post-closing/funding problems infrequently.
Attend loan closings when possible.
Qualifications Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
One to two years of related experience and/or training
Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator as required by state
Possess general mortgage banking understanding (including lock procedures, program analysis, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory timelines)
Proficiency with MS Office and email
Preferred Qualifications
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to accurately and efficiently process and record a large volume of data
Ability to act as a team player and be willing to accept constructive criticism.
