Our History & Facilities
Our building includes a Sanctuary/Auditorium, Middle School/High School fellowship space with storage, kitchen, and restrooms; staff offices; Hospitality Room for meetings and small groups; an All-Purpose room for gatherings; and a parsonage nearby. A separate ministry house on U.S. 10 serves as a respite for visiting pastors. A pole barn and attached patio support summer events. The church is debt-free. The Music Director and spouse reside in the parsonage. A large kitchen, Children’s Wing with check-in, restrooms, nurseries, and classrooms, plus a library with AV resources serve all ages. We anticipate a merger of the GLCC and NMC into one classis by June 2026 due to structural changes within the RCA regional structure. Ministries & Teams

Personal Qualifications: Be a growing disciple of Christ engaged in regular spiritual disciplines; acknowledge the authority of Scripture, the power of prayer, and the lordship of Jesus Christ. Possess a Master of Divinity degree or equivalent from an accredited seminary. Be or become an ordained minister in the Reformed Church in America (RCA). Responsibilities: Preaching and Worship Preach biblically grounded, Christ-centered sermons on 40+ Sundays per year, including Easter and a Christmas Eve service. Arrange pulpit supply for absences; meet with staff to coordinate worship themes; administer the sacraments with Elder support. Explore ways to engage online worshipers and connect with the broader body of MCRC. Equip and motivate church members to study God’s Word and share it with others; guide children, youth, and adult ministries to align with MCRC mission and core values. Leadership Provide leadership to fulfill MCRC’s mission and values; equip and empower staff and volunteers; recruit and develop leaders; supervise staff and conduct annual reviews; lead staff meetings; maintain strong organizational practices. Ensure reports and documentation for MCRC, Classis, and RCA are up to date; maintain an approachable, collaborative leadership style. Congregational Care Work with elders, deacons, and staff to meet care needs in the congregation and community, including crisis response, hospital visits, and homebound ministry; provide short-term counseling as requested and refer as needed; conduct weddings and funerals as time allows. Community Engagement Model evangelism through preaching and leadership; equip ministries for mission activities; participate in local church community events and networking with other pastors; faithfully represent the congregation within the community and denomination. Accountability Maintain spiritual disciplines personally; balance family and work; seek wisdom and input from colleagues; complete annual performance reviews with the Executive Committee and set goals for the upcoming year. Compensation & Benefits Housing allowance; retirement contribution; self-employment tax (7.65%); medical insurance; life insurance; long-term disability; continuing education allowance; ministry travel mileage; paid vacation; Sabbatical after 7 years of service.
