The Chicago School is hiring a Simulation Technician to serve as a key member of the IllinoisCOM simulation team. The Simulation Technician will play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining the college's simulation-based education programs. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, educational understanding, and healthcare knowledge to effectively operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation equipment and technologies. Working closely with faculty and the simulation team, the Simulation Technician will ensure the smooth operation of simulation scenarios, manage simulation resources, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the simulation program. This role is essential in providing realistic and high-quality simulation experiences that enhance the education of osteopathic medical students. The position is located at our Chicago campus. The Simulation Technician will report to the Director of Simulation. The anticipated hire date for this position is January 1, 2026.**PRINCIPLE DUTIES:** Implement, maintain, and/or facilitate work with IT on simulation software and hardware needs**Education and Training** Stay current with advancements in simulation technology and methodologies, sharing knowledge with the team. Collaborate with faculty to create visually appealing and effective printed materials that enhance the learning experience. **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS** Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Healthcare, Education, Biomedical Engineering, or Information Technology) Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare simulation or a related field Proficiency with common simulation-based technology, computers, and basic office software Experience with audio/video editing and AV technology Familiarity with printing technology and experience in print design Strong technical troubleshooting skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends **IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS** Master's degree in a healthcare or education-related field Experience with AI, XR technologies in educational settingsAbility to become an ACLS and PALS instructor Experience in an osteopathic medical education setting Project management experience Familiarity with educational theories and adult learning principles Advanced skills in graphic design and desktop publishing software For more than four decades, The Chicago School has been a leading nonprofit university dedicated to training professionals for careers that improve the integrated health of individuals, organizations, and communities across the globe.
