MPOWIR Mentoring Physical Oceanography Women to Increase Retention
Postdoctoral position – Scripps Institution of Oceanography
MPOWIR Mentoring Physical Oceanography Women to Increase Retention, San Diego, California, United States, 92189
Overview
Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at UC San Diego is looking for a postdoctoral scholar to work on realistic (and some idealized) numerical simulations investigating regional circulation on the Seychelles Plateau in the Indian Ocean. The postdoc will build off of a semi-realistic simulation of the region, incorporating realistic boundary forcing and conducting validation with observations. Prior ROMS experience is required. Scientific questions of interest will address plateau-trapped waves, and interaction with the mesoscale & sub-mesoscale forcing atop the shallow plateau at local island scales.
Responsibilities
