Continuation is dependent upon additional grant funding. What You'll Be Doing:

Engage in individual and team-based research projects focused on semiconductor manufacturing. Design and develop equipment and processes, as they relate to device fabrication. Plan and execute experiments involving nanomaterials, perform equipment/device characterization and analysis, and prepare detailed technical reports. Interact with academic, governmental, and industrial partners. Assist faculty in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students involved in project-related tasks. About Us:

Overall, MMRL plays a crucial role in Purdue's commitment to enhancing U.S. manufacturing capabilities through cutting-edge research, education, and collaboration with industry stakeholders. What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience Masters Degree A background in semiconductor nanomanufacturing, tip-based material characterization, and deposition techniques. Two (2) years of research experience in semiconductor manufacturing and characterization, semiconductor nanomaterials research, surface analysis or manufacturing systems Hands-on experience with techniques such as Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM). Skills needed: Knowledge of semiconductor device characterization, nanomaterial processing, materials science, and engineering. Proficiency in manufacturing processes and analytical techniques, including SEM, Raman spectroscopy, XPS, XRD, and other related methods. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and project-planning abilities. Practical communication skills, including technical writing and presentations. Strong attention to safety, urgency, and professionalism in a research setting. Nice to have: Experience with cleanroom operations and nanomaterial deposition/thin film/lithography tools. MS or Ph.D. in a relevant field with direct experience in AFM, materials, manufacturing, and design. Interest in space science Purdue University is an Equal Opportunity Employer
