Your profile:
Degree in
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems , or similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience Basic knowledge of electrical engineering with the ability to read and understand circuit diagrams and block diagrams Solid experience in
Linux system administration , especially Ubuntu, with scripting and automation skills Familiarity with
BIOS/firmware programming
or updating Hands-on experience with
hardware interface testing
(e.g. PCIe, USB-C), and automation tests Skilled at troubleshooting, debugging, analyzing system logs, and diagnosing platform-level issues Comfortable working in lab environments, deploying to multiple hardware versions, maintaining consistency across variants Programming skills (e.g. Shell, Python) for scripting, automating routines, parsing logs, etc. Good communication skills in English; German is a plus Methodical, detail-oriented, with a mindset for continuous improvement Your responsibilities:
Configure
Ubuntu Linux systems
for various hardware versions of the Kontron COMe platform using scripting (Shell, Bash, Python, etc.) Test, validate and deploy system configurations, ensuring compatibility, stability, and performance Perform regular maintenance tasks, system updates, and troubleshooting of platform issues Program or update
BIOS/firmware
where needed Contribute to various tasks related to the
SPMI
interface Automate testing of
high-speed
interfaces (PCIe Gen 4/5/6, USB-C, and other I/O) to guarantee correct functioning across hardware revisions Monitor system behavior, analyze logs, and identify improvements to strengthen reliability Work closely with firmware developers, system architects, and test engineers to ensure smooth platform integration Document configuration processes, test procedures, and results in a clear and structured way What we offer:
