Temp Parttime Faculty: History

UNM Los Alamos anticipates hiring Temporary Part-Time faculty to teach online and/or face-to-face History (HIST) courses at the 1000 or 2000 level. This is a continuous recruitment beginning in the Summer 2025 semester. Positions depend on student enrollment levels and course offerings each semester. Applicants hired will be considered for future requisitions. Anticipated subjects include US History and Western Civilizations. UNM-Los Alamos is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico, located approximately 90 miles northwest of Albuquerque. It emphasizes teaching excellence, offering transfer, vocational, and technical courses to citizens of Los Alamos County and northern New Mexico. Qualified temporary part-time faculty will teach lower division classes, responsible for all aspects of their courses including meetings, content delivery, assignments, grading, and student assessment. Adjunct Faculty are currently paid $1,017.60 per credit hour. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

To teach or develop courses in History, candidates must meet accreditation requirements, which can be satisfied by: Master’s Degree in the discipline or subfield, OR A master’s degree or higher in another discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the relevant discipline. Preferred Qualifications: Post-secondary teaching experience Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success Online teaching experience Terminal degree (Ph.D., MFA, etc.) Residence in New Mexico Application Instructions
