Construction Inspectors (Remote Site Locations) (Biotech)
GPI is seeking candidates to fill highway and bridge construction inspector positions on projects across various locations in Maryland. Locations include, but are not limited to, Anne Arundel County, Montgomery County, Prince George's County, Dorchester County, Wicomico County, Worcester County, Somerset County, Harford County, Carroll County, Frederick County, Howard County, Baltimore County, and Baltimore City.
The ideal candidate should be motivated, able to work independently or with a GPI or Department of Transportation Project Team, and available to work contractor hours, including day or night shifts and weekends as necessary for project completion.

Conduct daily field inspections of contractor work on highway and bridge construction projects, including earthwork, asphalt, concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, MOT, safety devices, and utilities. Measure, record, and maintain contract quantities for payment processing. Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and standards. Perform or observe material sampling and testing per project standards. Ensure work and materials meet standards and specifications. Document daily project progress, including work performed, compliance, staffing, equipment, and contract quantities. Record project progress and documentation using Word, Excel, or other electronic software. Identify and communicate project issues to managers and contractors. Assess and report unsafe conditions on-site. Qualifications:
Experience with MDOT SHA/MDTA or other DOT construction inspection preferred. Certifications such as MDOT SHA Yellow Card and MARTCP testing are preferred; ability to obtain them is required. NICET certification is a plus but not mandatory. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic computer and mobile device skills.
