Collins is currently interested in hiring an experienced Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineer with multi years of experience or practical application in working with electronic and mechanical systems for military contractors and supporting products designed for the military. This engineer will be responsible for providing R&M support to new development programs, including reliability and maintainability predictions and analyses, testability analyses, maintainability demonstrations, and highly accelerated stress testing. This position will be in a hybrid setting, located at one of the Collins Aerospace sites: Colorado Springs, CO or Cedar Rapids, IA. Security clearance: DoD Secret; U.S. citizenship or eligibility for a security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Onsite work type: Onsite. What YOU Will Do

Conduct aerospace Reliability and Maintainability analysis Support R&M Program Plan Reliability Predictions following MIL-HDBK-217 and/or 217PLUS standards Conduct FMEA / Criticality Analysis planning and reliability testing, including HALT, RET, ESS or HASS Run FRACAS, including root cause analysis; Maintainability analysis and predictions; Built-In Test (BIT) design/verification; BIT / Maintainability Demonstration Analyze and predict the reliability of military systems and equipment by identifying potential failure modes Conduct root cause analysis and implement design improvements to maximize system uptime and minimize failures throughout the lifecycle Adhere to strict customer-driven reliability standards and guidelines Reduce cost and schedule risks by identifying R&M deficiencies early in development to increase acquisition efficiency and success during testing Additional Responsibilities

Failure analysis: Investigate equipment failures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions Reliability prediction: Use statistical methods and modeling tools to predict failures and identify critical components Design review: Collaborate with design engineers to assess and improve reliability FMEA: Conduct FMEA to identify potential failure modes and mitigation strategies Stress analysis: Analyze components to identify weak points and margins Data analysis: Analyze failure data to identify trends for preventative maintenance Reliability testing: Design and execute tests to validate performance under various conditions Maintainability analysis: Contribute to design decisions for easy maintenance Life cycle cost analysis: Assess impact of reliability on life cycle costs What YOU Will Learn

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree; or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience Experience and knowledge of Reliability and Maintainability analysis Experience with circuit analysis and the ability to perform detailed analyses on complex systems Experience performing detailed analyses on complex mechanical/electrical designs Experience coordinating several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules Qualifications We Prefer

This role is based in the United States and is onsite. Salary: The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers multiple factors when offering a role, including responsibilities, location, experience, and skills.
