As a supplier of process systems, our clients frequently request us to provide more scope in the balance-of-plant and additional vendor-purchased components. As projects grow larger, ensuring a proper cost basis for bids becomes increasingly critical. Job Overview
This role will be responsible for the design of cryogenic liquefaction and distillation facilities. A strong background in heat transfer and thermodynamics is required. Basic computer skills and proficiency in Excel are expected. Familiarity with thermodynamic property estimation tools, process simulation software, or programming languages is preferred. Responsibilities
Model and optimize system performance using the Symmetry process calculator. Specify, evaluate, and select major and minor system components, including: o Compression equipment o Expansion equipment o Heat exchange equipment o Distillation columns o Valves o Piping Create and modify Process Flow Diagrams, Heat & Material Balance tables, and P&IDs. Write and review operating and testing procedures. Calculate plant performance, gather preliminary pricing, and draft technical proposals for Cosmodyne process plants. Review safety documentation and participate in HAZOP meetings. Support commissioning activities remotely and onsite, including plant operation training and troubleshooting. Develop process tools to improve or streamline equipment design and selection. Perform engineering calculations to estimate system size or utility demands. Review customer specifications and incorporate them into system designs. Collaborate closely with Sales, Design, Project, and Field Service teams. Recruit and train junior process engineers. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field with significant refrigeration systems study. Experience in research or testing environments related to engineering. Experience with process calculators (Symmetry, HYSYS, CHEMCAD) or thermodynamic databases (REFPROP, NIST steam tables). Experience in process engineering or equipment design, particularly in turbomachinery or heat exchange equipment. EEOC Statement
