and .**Job Summary**The Component Engineer will provide component-level technical support to design engineering and manufacturing operations for the Analog Devices Federal business unit.
Functions include performing component research, participating in component life cycle management, and driving standardization of components for use across multiple systems of highly complex RF & Microwave modules.The successful candidate will be responsible for the review and interpretation of component data sheets and the evaluation of components, by performing testing and evaluations such as FAI reviews, HAST or DPAs, as applicable, to verify compliance to the source control drawings.**Key Points for Component Engineer*** Maintaining AVL and lead the supplier approval process per internal procedures* Assist supplier quality and process engineers with QMS and process audits when supplier component issues arise* Facilitate supplier manufacturing site changes, part obsolesce, supplier PCNs, and component design changes via a Technical Review Board (TRB) review
+ Track lifecycle and manage obsolescence issues by working with suppliers and purchasing to establish a long-term plan to manage inventory / availability of components for the life of the program* Serve as a liaison for engineering and purchasing by working directly with suppliers to get technical responses when questions arise, submit NSPAR’s, gain access to RoHS info, reliability, performance data, etc. that may not be readily available.
+ Serve as the SME and actively participate in component quality / reliability efforts including SDRL reviews, PFMEA’s, customer derating reviews, stress analysis, worst case analysis requirements, etc.* Review BOMs for accuracy and completeness* Work with design engineering to develop a quality plan for New Product Introduction and ensure customer component flow-downs are met* Assist in the creation of SCD’s for non-military parts, and determine what additional screening steps may be done at the manufacturer that could improve reliability rating* Locate approved Mil grade parts as well as second & third sources as applicable. This would include helping with PEM’s replacements, replacement of non-compliant components* Assist engineering in efforts to eliminate PEM’s and other non-compliant / non-preferred components.
+ For PEMS that need to go through qualification, act as liaison between ADI’s supplier’s and ADI engineers.* Work with the Conflict Minerals (3TG) team to ensure compliance of components and participate in the Quarterly EH&S Compliance board meetings* Create Materials Declaration Datasheets (MDS) as required for piece part components* Support the incoming inspection department from a technical perspective to ensure component compliance to SCDs* Work with purchasing to ensure the latest docs, SCD’s, flow-downs, lifecycle, and alternate sources, are kept current* Review of engineering component selection and assist in locating parts that could be used during protype phase that can be substituted for parts with long lead times.* Participate in engineering design reviews**Qualifications:*** Must be a US Citizen* Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102)* Leadership and effective oral communication across functions of all business units* Background in MIL-STD-883 Methods & Military grade and AEC part selection, (Q100, 101, and 200)* Experience with AS9145 APQP/PPAP process for Aerospace* Must have strong Engineering skills regarding machining, package development, process flow, and materials selection.* Experience with GIDEP and Silicon Expert are highly recommended*For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export
