We have an exciting opportunity for a

Systems Engineering Lead for Gateway Project GRAIL

to join the team with Aerodyne Industries, a teammate company.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert and Systems Integration Engineer for the integration activities of the Gateway Ready Avionic Integration Lab (GRAIL), a critical integration effort of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon

Collaborate with lab personnel, partners, providers, and testing stakeholders to understand interface and testing requirements

Leverage interface knowledge to assure lab design provides the proper interfaces and fidelity to satisfy testing objectives

Develop expertise on lab verification efforts and ensure facility is applicable for assigned testing

Assist in lab equipment testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure equipment meets requirement and is satisfactorily integrated

Maintain strict documentation of integration processes, equipment specifications, configurations, and testing results

Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards

Provide support to lab personnel and external customers on integrated systems and their specifications

Continuously reassess documents, policies, procedures for future configurations of the lab

Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews

Communicate and organize in order to efficiently work within a team environment

Perform other duties as required

Requisition Qualifications This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

BS degree in

Engineering

from an accredited engineering school

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in engineering or systems engineering

Experience integrating complex hardware and software systems

Troubleshooting, diagnostic, and debugging skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment

Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements

Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection

Knowledge of networking hardware and software

Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings

Able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision

Experience working in a team environment

Requisition Preferences

Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork

Experience with NASA processes

Knowledge and experience with DOORS Next Generation

Essential Functions Work Environment Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
