Overview

Fidelity Asset Management Solutions (FAMS) seeks a Cloud Engineer with DevOps/SRE focus to deliver CI/CD pipelines, support developers, enable services at scale, and ensure high availability through automation and Infrastructure as Code. The role emphasizes resiliency engineering, automation, observability, and chaos testing. Responsibilities

Support development squads with DevOps delivery and implement best engineering practices.

Deliver high quality, timely, cost effective and maintainable software solutions in an agile environment to meet functional and non-functional requirements.

Help define and execute a comprehensive reliability and observability strategy, ensuring Fidelity’s systems are available when customers need them.

Bring together technical, procedural, and financial data to reduce toil and increase efficiency.

Execute plans for technical standardization and process refinement within the engineering organization, especially for Site Reliability Engineers.

Troubleshoot stack-wide engineering issues related to hardware, software, network, applications, and cloud service providers (AWS & Azure).

Coach peer SREs and development squads on how to build highly available systems and enable visibility/monitoring.

Qualifications

Overall experience of 8+ years with a bachelor’s degree or higher in a technology-related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science) required.

5+ years of hands-on experience with advanced Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (Jenkins), deploying and/or supporting highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale.

1-2 years of experience in Cloud development (AWS) and migration skills; experience building and operating highly resilient platforms in AWS.

2-4 years of experience in software development with Python, NodeJS, or Java with a focus on SDLC and automation.

Hands-on experience with container orchestration, preferably Kubernetes.

Experience operating and implementing distributed and highly concurrent service-based architectures.

Ability to automate with scripting languages (Python, Shell).

Experience with developing CI/CD pipelines including software configuration management, test automation, version control, and static code analysis (Jenkins, Ansible, Docker).

Experience managing systems using infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible).

Solid understanding of Cloud Computing (AWS) and DevOps concepts including CI/CD pipelines.

Hands-on Kubernetes skills and knowledge.

Hands-on experience with observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry, etc.).

Experience in instrumentation, building and operating monitoring, logging, and alerting for distributed systems at scale.

Proven experience in maintaining scalability and resiliency of complex environments.

Proven experience with advanced observability practices and modern monitoring tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Splunk, etc.).

Ability to triage, perform root cause analysis, and stay decisive under pressure.

Proficient communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to learn new software, methods, and practices and bring them to developers.

Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and build relationships.

Demonstrated expertise in production support, incident management, root cause analysis, real-time monitoring, and high availability of critical systems in fast-paced environments.
