Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, aiming to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities worldwide.
The mission requires a highly reliable, power-efficient, performant, and low-cost satellite bus and payload. As a Sr. PCBA Manufacturing Engineer, you will work across design engineering, supply-chain, quality, and manufacturing partners to drive Project Kuiper electrical sub-system and PCBA manufacturing and delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing PCB/PCBA DFM feedback and identifying manufacturing challenges early in product development.
Driving the PCBA Manufacturing Qualification process and defining manufacturing readiness requirements.
Investigating and developing new manufacturing technology and methodologies to enhance PCBA quality, reliability, throughput, and cost.
Driving closure of operational issues during pre-production builds and implementing optimized manufacturing processes.
Investigating failures/defects in production, testing, and integration, and identifying root causes for continuous improvement.
Delivering manufacturing process capabilities, including equipment capability, quality controls, materials characterization, and standardized rework practices.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Aerospace/Industrial/Electrical) or related discipline, with 3+ years of experience in PCBA/PCB production/processes and manufacturing engineering. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Engineering and experience with industry-standard PLM and DFX systems.
