Dominion’s Bath County Power Station in Warm Springs, VA, seeks an experienced Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Staff Engineer (Civil/Geotechnical) to lead all engineering and geotechnical aspects of the station's geotechnical program. Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining high-pressure tunnels, drainage tunnels, dam safety, civil structures, and performing related analyses and inspections. The role involves providing technical expertise, guidance, and training to team members, and supporting station operations. The position level (Engineer, Senior Engineer, Staff Engineer) will depend on the candidate's experience and skills. The required knowledge, skills, and experience include: At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience Knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and fundamentals Experience in a professional engineering role Proficiency in engineering practices, configuration management, and project management Leadership skills and ability to develop and exercise them Proficiency with computer software for reports, presentations, and data review Problem-solving skills with demonstrated results Ability to work safely in plant environments, including confined spaces and elevated heights Strong communication skills, including technical writing Knowledge of FERC-regulated dams, dam safety, and hydrogeology Understanding of business, financial, and contractual matters Ability to perform fieldwork outdoors in rugged environments independently Valid driver’s license Additional experience requirements for higher levels include: Senior Level
5+ years of relevant experience Full knowledge of engineering principles Leadership and project management skills Proficiency with engineering software and calculations Staff Level
8+ years of relevant experience Expert knowledge and recognized authority in the field Ability to provide expert advice and lead projects Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Civil with Geotechnical, Hydrology/Hydraulics, or Dam Engineering focus). A Professional Engineer license is preferred but not required; the ability to obtain reciprocity in Virginia and other states is desirable. Licenses and Certifications
Working Conditions
Environmental conditions include exposure to dust, grease, oil, energized wires, fumes, heat, loud noise, operating machinery, travel, confined spaces, and cold temperatures, with varying exposure levels. Other Conditions
