* Supervises all daily activities and technical aspects of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Assists in the hiring of other technologists for the Epilepsy unit.* Maintains a work environment that encourages retention, development of the team, customer service and family centered care by being a team role model.
Demonstrates ability to function as an advocate, mentor, and leader.* Assists the technologists in identifying professional goals and provides opportunities to meet these goals.* Actively facilitates problem identification, avoidance, and resolution.* Monitors employees understanding and adherence to Lurie Children’s policies and protocols.* Identifies opportunities to improve technical processes through innovation, simplification, increased efficiency, and cost reduction.* Works with the vendor, biomedical engineering, and IT to maintain equipment and troubleshoot technical problems.
Orders supplies and reviews inventory of the unit.* Performs all duties and essential job functions of Neurodiagnostic Tech III and ND Specialist.* Maintains continuing education requirements of ABRET for credentials by reviewing literature and attending continuing education meetings and seminars.* Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers, and others.* Performs other duties as assigned.* An associate degree is required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.* Diploma from a Neurodiagnostic Training Program required.* At least 7 years of experience in Neurodiagnostics.
Knowledge of applicable neurodiagnostic operating systems and software.* Registration in 2 modalities required such as EEG (R. EEG T.) or Registration in Evoked Potentials (R. EP T.) and Certification in Long Term Monitoring (CLTM) or Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) by ABRET: Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation and/or Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologists (R. NCS. T.) by AAET American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists.* NeuroAnalyst credential by ABRET preferred.* Basic Life Support Certification required.* Ability to move machines and patients weighing in excess of 25 pounds.* Ability to effectively communicate with hospital staff and departments.At Lurie Children’s, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise.
