Overview

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a pediatric/lifespan neuropsychologist for a full-time position specializing in neuropsychological assessment of children of all ages. The position is administratively housed in the Division of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and services are provided in the NeuroDevelopmental Science Center, which includes Neurology, Neurosurgery, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, and Physiatry. The role offers opportunities to join an existing team of neuropsychologists and to specialize in areas such as Neurofibromatosis, patients from the neuro-oncology program, patients admitted to intensive inpatient and day rehabilitation programs, and/or patients with congenital heart defects. Specialization will depend on candidate interest, and additional opportunities may be available upon request. There are also opportunities to provide general neuropsychological services for children and families dealing with epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, metabolic disorders, cranio-facial disorders, Turner Syndrome, genetic disorders, renal transplantation clearance evaluations, and long-term effects of perinatal issues. The neuropsychology service is supported by full-time psychometricians. Responsibilities

Conduct neuropsychological assessments of children and adolescents across a broad age range. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team within the NeuroDevelopmental Science Center, including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, and Physiatry. Specialize in designated clinical areas (e.g., Neurofibromatosis, neuro-oncology patients, inpatient/day rehabilitation inpatients, congenital heart defects) as aligned with candidate interests; additional opportunities may be available upon request. Provide general neuropsychological services for conditions such as epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, metabolic disorders, cranio-facial disorders, Turner Syndrome, genetic disorders, renal transplantation clearance evaluations, and perinatal-related long-term effects. Contribute to clinical research and collaborate with pediatric neuropsychologists, physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team. Engage in supervision, teaching, and training of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows (APPCN), psychology (APPIC), pediatric medical residents, developmental behavioral pediatrics fellows, and child psychiatry fellows. Support academic activities and participate in the large clinical database maintained by the Neuropsychology Service. Qualifications

Ph.D. or Psy.D. in child clinical psychology/pediatric psychology, including completion of an internship in an APA/CPA-accredited child psychology/pediatric psychology program. Eligibility for licensure in Ohio. Completion of a formal two-year Pediatric Neuropsychology Post-doctoral Fellowship (APPCN preferred). Experience with medical populations is preferred. Board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology must be obtained within 5 years of hire. Application
