Under the general supervision of a Speech and Language Pathologist or Program Specialist, the Speech and Language Pathology Assistant will perform services and consultation with teachers at a school site, provide activities designed to develop language skills and articulation skills, including speech production, vocalization and social pragmatics in students with speech/language disorders. Other duties may include administrative work, meetings, and collaborations with staff and parents. Responsibilities

Conduct speech-language screenings using a variety of screening tools and techniques Follow documented therapy plans Support the SLP with contacting families to arrange IEP meetings Document student progress in IEP system Prepare therapy materials for use in pullout small group or classroom settings Adapt or modify instructional materials as determined by student need and abilities for teacher-use in the classroom Consult with general ed teachers to co-plan instructional materials or implement strategies Track performance data using progress monitoring tools and report progress on IEP goals Assist with IEP progress monitoring under the supervision of the SLP Create and maintain a safe, positive environment for students Collaborate with members of IEP Team, Special Education team and School site teams Demonstrate knowledge of and support Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, values, standards, policies and procedures, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior Perform other related duties as required and assigned Additional

Minimum educational level: Associate’s Degree and completion of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Program Registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant with the State of California Experience required: 1+ year working with students with special needs in an educational setting Valid California Driver’s License Work authorization requirements: Clear the Department of Justice background screening Authorized to work in the United States Provide health (TB) clearance (renewed every four years) Compensation

Our pay schedule for this position ranges from $36.00/hour to $68.47/hour based on years of experience.
