Overview
Self-Direction DSP - Fabius Pompey Area (Job #MG-AC)
Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Fabius Pompey area with a young man with several diagnoses, including autism and FASD. The DSP will provide support and assist him with working on goals, both at home and in community settings.
Responsibilities
Accompany and support him during community outings.
Assist him to gain independent living skills, including organization skills.
Assist him to increase and maintain his communication and social skills.
Provide transportation as needed.
Qualifications
Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic.
Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including fetal alcohol spectrum disorder and trauma, is a plus.
Reliable transportation and valid NYS driver’s license.
HS diploma or GED.
Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.
Details
Hours: Approximately 8 hours per week to start; flexible schedule after school and on weekends (to be agreed with the family). Additional hours may be available in the future.
Pay rate: $20.50 per hour.
