Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Immigration Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys by preparing immigration applications, compiling case files, managing client interactions, and ensuring compliance with procedural requirements. The successful applicant will possess strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of immigration processes.
Responsibilities:
Prepare immigration forms and supporting documentation for USCIS, Immigration Court, and Consular processing.
Conduct client intake interviews, maintain regular client contact, and provide updates on case status.
Manage and track case deadlines and ensure timely filing of petitions and motions.
Compile, organize, and maintain immigration files and documents.
Perform legal research on immigration policies, laws, and precedents.
Assist attorneys in drafting persuasive legal arguments, cover letters, affidavits, and supporting briefs.
Translate documents (if bilingual), and coordinate document translations as necessary.
Liaise effectively with government agencies, clients, and other legal professionals.
Assist in the preparation of clients for USCIS interviews and Immigration Court hearings.
Maintain and update the firm’s case management systems accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; Paralegal certification highly desirable.
Minimum of 2 years experience working as an Immigration Paralegal, preferably in employment-based and family-based immigration, asylum cases, and removal defense.
Familiarity with immigration software and case management systems.
Strong knowledge of immigration law, procedural requirements, and USCIS/EOIR processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
Proficiency in Spanish highly desirable.
