Bankruptcy Associate (3-5 yrs) – Established Boutique Law Firm

About the Position: Our client, a premier boutique law firm in Chicago, has an active need for a bankruptcy lawyer to join its growing practice as an associate. This practice represents clients locally and nationally in a range of bankruptcy and insolvency contexts and its attorneys have experience in all types of litigation, real estate and transactional matters involving financially distressed situations. Highlights: · Strong work/life balance · Growing practice with a sophisticated client base · Strong support and mentoring from partners at the firm · Entrepreneurial and collaborative work environment Responsibilities: · Represent creditors in chapter 11 cases in courts across the United States · Assist chapter 7 Trustees in all aspects of chapter 7 cases · Represent lenders in restructurings, foreclosure actions, and UCC sales · Represent purchasers of the assets of distressed businesses · Defend avoidance actions · Represent insurance companies in their capacity as the Debtors’ insurers Required Qualifications: · 3-5 years of bankruptcy experience, including chapter 11 and chapter 7 cases and out-of-court restructurings · Experience representing clients in the healthcare and/or insurance industry with bankruptcy related matters preferred Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid) Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $200,000 – $220,000.
