As a

Senior/Mid-Level China Analyst – Client Success Manager , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our clients across U.S. federal defense, intelligence, and policy communities. You will combine subject-matter expertise on China with client-facing engagement, serving as both an analyst and trusted advisor. Managing your own portfolio of clients, you’ll lead or support research projects, deliver product demonstrations, host training sessions, and provide ongoing engagement to strengthen client adoption and renewals. As an expert user of Datenna’s China OSINT platform, you’ll facilitate strategic dialogues, surface client feedback to our engineering team, and help shape the long-term strategy for meeting evolving customer needs. Your Mission at Datenna

Engage in strategic dialogues with clients and prospects in the defense, intelligence, and policy communities

Work closely with Datenna’s China experts to deliver impactful research, insights, and client success outcomes

Manage onboarding, training, and support for your portfolio of government clients, ensuring adoption and value realization

Gather, synthesize, and communicate client feedback to inform product development and feature evolution

Support business development and contract growth through trusted relationships, tailored solutions, and renewal processes

Support sales with technical product demonstrations to build strategic partnerships with prospective clients

What Makes You a Great Candidate

5–10 years of relevant experience in China analysis, client success, or government engagement

Strong knowledge of China’s foreign policy, politics, military, and/or technology sectors

Demonstrated ability to manage and grow strategic customer relationships with senior stakeholders

Excellent research, writing, and public presentation skills with the ability to translate complex issues into clear insights

Collaborative and problem-solving mindset, capable of balancing tactical execution with long-term strategic planning

Client-oriented, empathetic, and driven to consistently exceed expectations

Preferred Qualifications

Work experience in the U.S. defense, intelligence, or related policy community

Mandarin Chinese language skills

Familiarity with Chinese government policies such as military-civil fusion, dual circulation, or industrial strategies

Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance

Experience working in a startup, scale-up, or entrepreneurial environment
