The primary responsibilities of a Busser / Food Runner include:
Obtaining service area assignments at the beginning of each shift.
Clearing tables after guests leave and taking tableware to the dish room, placing silverware, dishes, and glassware in appropriate areas for washing.
Promptly cleaning tabletops, chairs, and booths between settings. Checking the floor and cleaning as required. Resetting and arranging the tabletop.
Communicating with servers and hostesses to ensure efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service.
Assisting servers with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
Guiding guests through the menus while demonstrating knowledge of food and beverage offerings.
Providing pleasant and timely service.
Anticipating guest needs to ensure a smooth dining experience.
Requirements:
No previous restaurant experience required.
Ability to communicate and understand English.
Ability to fulfill physical requirements of the job, including carrying trays weighing at least 20 lbs for long periods.
