SUPERVISOR, ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY (EHS) The EHS Supervisor leads the EHS technicians in all work related to SpaceX’s EHS programs as assigned by the EHS Manager. This role performs the same work tasks as EHS technicians while providing leadership and supervision to the team. The EHS Supervisor must lead by example to ensure overall compliance, success, and well-being of the EHS technicians and program. Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day and long-term activities/priorities of the EHS technician team Foster a collaborative relationship with technicians and other EHS/SpaceX teams Coordinate employee schedules, work assignments, and timekeeping requirements Provide instructional guidance on job assignments, procedures, and techniques to perform specific skills; ensure accuracy and completion Coordinate with site leadership to involve the EHS team in department development/modification plans and procedure development Ensure technicians complete all required tasks thoroughly and on time Document performance and compliance issues with technicians Implement and maintain site-specific EHS team policies Allocate resources appropriately Oversee EHS inspections and daily communications Develop and maintain relationships with EHS vendors Address hazards and create Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and PPE assessments as needed Perform tasks and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and regulatory agencies Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency certificate 4+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health, and safety disciplines Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience implementing/developing EHS plans and policies Experience with Windows OS and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) Experience with emergency response in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil, and water Hands-on work experience with attention to detail in academic or career pursuits Ability to multi-task, manage shifting priorities, and follow through with minimal supervision Ability to work in a construction/industrial environment Strong communication with technicians and engineers; good organizational skills Additional Requirements
This is not remote or hybrid and requires relocation if not local to Hawthorne, CA Occasional extended hours and weekends when needed Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted Compensation and Benefits
Pay range: Supervisor: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge, education, and experience. Base salary is part of SpaceX’s total rewards package, which may include long-term incentives (stock/stock options), discretionary bonuses, and potential employee stock purchase plan. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401(k), disability and life insurance, paid parental leave, paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave as per policy.
