Job Summary
Provides genetic counseling as well as academic leadership in the Master of Science Genetic Counseling Program. Clinical practice includes evaluating medical history, family history and laboratory findings pertaining to a risk or diagnosis of a genetic condition. Works within a team of healthcare professionals and genetic counseling students to accomplish the management of individuals at risk for genetic conditions. Academic responsibilities include both didactic instruction and administrative development of the Genetic Counseling Program. Requires developing and executing long-term goals including program growth, innovation in genetic counseling education and maintaining accreditation with the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling. Provides additional leadership in the absence of leadership. Essential Functions

Gathers diagnostic information; analyzes clinical laboratory findings; develops management plan; counsels patients and families regarding genetic diagnosis, risk of recurrence, and reproductive options. Instructs/teaches genetic counseling to Master of Science genetic counseling candidates in both the classroom and clinical setting. Oversees administrative aspects of the genetic counseling program including curriculum coordination, serving on admissions board, management of clinical rotations, and long-term growth of the genetic counseling program. Develops and implements research projects, grant proposals, and projects; composes articles for professional presentation or publication. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. Minimum Requirements
Education - Master's degree from an American Board of Genetics Counseling (ABGC) accredited Genetic Counseling Program. Experience - Three (3) years genetic counseling experience. One (1) year of academic experience in education for genetic counselors. In Lieu Of
