Job Title: Campus Police Officer, Part Time Location: North Georgia Technical College, Clarkesville, GA Role summary: The Campus Police Officer performs a full range of assigned law enforcement duties to maintain security and order on a technical college campus. The position is subject to annual Campus Security Authority training and reporting as required under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. Responsibilities

Patrol duties: Night shift — patrol inside the dormitory a minimum of twice between 6:00 PM and midnight, and a minimum of once between midnight and 6:00 AM; walk campus buildings after night classes end and ensure all doors are secured. Patrol duties: Day shift — patrol inside the dormitory a minimum of twice during shift; walk the entire campus every 2 hours. Guard and monitor buildings, answer alarms, investigate disturbances, and handle criminal complaints and vehicle accidents. Coordinate with State Patrol and adjacent law enforcement jurisdictions; apprehend criminal suspects and turnover to local jurisdiction for booking or incarceration. Inspect assigned areas for fire or environmental hazards; monitor and control entry and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security. Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates; respond to fires, natural disasters, or other hazards. Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators; write reports of daily activities and irregularities. Coordinate disaster response or crisis management activities such as opening shelters and evacuation; inspect equipment and facilities for operational readiness. Collaborate to prepare and analyze damage assessments following emergencies; escort or drive motor vehicles to transport individuals and provide personal protection. Direct traffic during special events and provide security for events; maintain Peace Officer Standards Training certification; perform other duties as assigned. Competencies

High school diploma or equivalent and P.O.S.T certification is required Preferred Qualifications
