Serves as a designated School Certifying Official with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.***Applicants must be authorized to work for any US employer. The department is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.*****Essential Duties & Responsibilities:*** Serves as a designated School Certifying Official.
Responsible for processing requests for certification under federal benefits and posting resources to student accounts in accordance with applicable regulations and institutional procedures.* Assists with the maintenance of tuition assistance portals for the various military branches.
Processes tuition assistance requests in accordance with applicable regulations and institutional procedures.* Assist with preparing for internal and external compliance surveys. Conduct 3rd party contract reconciliation for military-affiliated student accounts in coordination with the Business Office.* Advise students on processes associated with operations of the Military and Veteran Services Center; including but not limited, to benefit usage and planning, tuition assistance, military evaluated credit, and student support services.* Assists with the administration and advisement of programs and services provided by the Military and Veteran Service Center through presentations or workshops, within the institution and in the community as needed.* Assists in the training and supervision of VA work-study students.* Other duties as assigned.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*** Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.* Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.* Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.* Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.**Education and Experience:*** Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Two years of related experience.**Wage:** $17.55/hour**Hours:** Monday - Friday; 8am to 5pm**Supervision of Others:** This position may supervise employees.**Work Location:** This is not a remote position.
