Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work ASRC Federal is looking for detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Payroll Specialist to join our team in a government contracting (GovCon) environment. This role supports the accurate and timely processing of payroll while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as DCAA and FAR requirements. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly organized, and able to work collaboratively across departments. Key Responsibilities: Process Biweekly/Weekly Payrolls: Assist in the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll for employees in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.

Timekeeping Support: Review and validate employee timesheets in accordance with DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) requirements and ensure accurate labor charging.

Data Entry & Maintenance: Maintain employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes in the payroll system.

Compliance Monitoring: Support compliance with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), DCAA, and other government contracting payroll requirements.

Audit Assistance: Assist with internal and external audits by preparing payroll reports and supporting documentation.

Employee Support: Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, timekeeping, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.

Reporting: Generate standard payroll reports and assist with ad hoc reporting as needed by HR, Finance, or Contracts teams.

Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Accounting, and Contracts departments to ensure accurate labor distribution and cost allocations.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives and help document payroll procedures and workflows.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

0–2 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or a related administrative role.

Basic understanding of payroll principles and familiarity with DCAA, FAR, and other GovCon-specific regulations is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., Dayforce, Deltek Costpoint and Deltek T&E) is preferred.

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
